Some people think that the key to success lies within their daily routines. Do you agree with this, and if so, what is your daily routine?
1000% a routine is necessary for success. I have morning check-in, reading, prayer, and then I workout after getting my daughter to school. I usually start working around 9 a.m. and then take breaks for walks in between to keep my productivity and energy up!
Looking back at your teenage years, did you have any entrepreneurial interests?
When I was young, I always had my own thing. I sold whatever I could get my hands on- mostly vintage clothes! I kept track of my profit margins and expenses in my notebooks and word documents!
Is there a specific time of day when you feel most productive?
11 am- 1 pm! Also, 6 a.m. is my best time for video editing, although I hate getting on my phone in the AM.
Do you think there is one character trait/skill that is important to have in order to become a successful entrepreneur in today’s world?
Resourceful. Whenever I see people blowing money to get things done, it irks me. I mean, do what you want- but I just prefer to do a LOT with a LITTLE while I am proving a concept.
Has being a woman in the business world affected you positively or negatively, and how so?
There is so much sexism in the business world. Women are viewed by men as not being as focused. They ask if our kids or lack of a spouse make it harder to have a business. They do not ask their male colleagues these questions about their kids and marital status!
What is one major goal that you wish to achieve by 2030?
Professional – Getting my period Care brand Rif Care, into Whole Foods and CVS!
Personal – buying a home with a farm.
Who is your biggest influence, and why?
I love the founder of SPANX, Sara Blakley. How she built her company bootstrapped is a lesson, all founders can learn from. Also, my mom, she has done a reinvention of herself in the past five years, and she’s stepped into her rich bitch era, and I love that for her!
If you could pick one female entrepreneur, who would you say is your biggest inspiration?
I also admire Kim K for being so hard-working. People can argue about that, but she is constantly reinventing herself and is the epitome of a hard-working woman! She shows you can be beautiful, and brilliant.
What has been the most formative advice you have received and why?
Don’t take ANYTHING personally.
If you have siblings, are they also entrepreneurs?
I have seven siblings. All are brilliant, but not all entrepreneurs! My sister works in finance, my younger sibling is 21 and figuring out what they want to do, and my brother is working in construction and contracting and quickly moving up the ranks. The others are all not working age yet, but I can see my little brother Cameron very interested in finance and becoming an investor like my mom!
Do you think the drive to become an entrepreneur is born with or is learned?
I think I was born with it, but I also saw my parents as entrepreneurs. They are both immigrants, and they needed to work so hard to have anything. When you see someone create something out of nothing, it is inspiring! I would feel like I was not measuring up if I did not use the drive they instilled in me to do something amazing, whether it was my thing or another company!
