Some people think that the key to success lies within their daily routines. Do you agree with this, and if so, what is your daily routine?

As I get older, I have noticed how much our lives are run (unconsciously) by our habits. At the ripe age of 33, I started making my bed every morning to set the tone of organization for my day. I personally like having structure and organization in my day. As an entrepreneur, there are endless priorities, and you have to be so precious with how you spend your time. I’m still working on being as efficient as I can with my time and relentlessly saying no to things that are not necessary while making time for things that make me happy, like being outside, going on walks, taking care of myself, and spending time with my family.

Looking back at your teenage years, did you have any entrepreneurial interests?

Yes! My uncle was in the import & export business, so I actually imported Razor Scooter knock-offs, inflatable couches, and even Tamagotchi from him! I had business cards made, which helped scratch my entrepreneurial itch from a young age!

Is there a specific time of day when you feel most productive?

I feel most productive in the morning hours – anytime before lunch. I try to schedule focus time in them and leave any calls or things that don’t require as much deep thinking to the afternoon.

Do you think there is one character trait/skill that is important to have in order to become a successful entrepreneur in today’s world?

Be resourceful, scrappy, and have a good attitude. If you have a good attitude and give it all you have, you will learn one way or another and become an invaluable part of the company.

Do you think the drive to become an entrepreneur is born with or is learned?

Both of my parents were entrepreneurs, and many of my aunts and uncles were entrepreneurs, so I think it does depend on your environment and if the entrepreneurial dream and lifestyle are encouraged. As an only child, I never really liked reporting to anyone else and was always very independent. From a young age, I did think I would eventually have my own company, but I wasn’t sure what it would be, and it took 10+ years of experience for me to learn everything I could about PR, marketing, publishing, etc., to eventually build Dreamday and Co-found The Quality Edit.
