KRISZTINA CSUPO

Some people think that the key to success lies within their daily routines. Do you agree with this, and if so, what is your daily routine?

Being a small business owner, I tend to wear a lot of hats, and every day presents a different problem to solve, so other than my morning pilates routine, it serves me best to be flexible.

Looking back at your teenage years, did you have any entrepreneurial interests?

I was a late bloomer in terms of figuring out my career path, especially during my teenage years in the Hungarian countryside in the late 80’s- 90’s so entrepreneurship came much later in life for me.

Is there a specific time of day when you feel most productive?

Definitely, the morning hours are for important meetings and tasks.

Do you think there is one character trait/skill that is important to have in order to become a successful entrepreneur in today’s world?

I don’t think it is one trait but rather a combination of many. Some that come to my mind are flexibility, embracing changes, and approaching them with an open mind.

Has being a woman in the business world affected you positively or negatively, and how so?

I don’t believe so for myself. I think it does have a negative impact on some I don’t focus on gender or any other differences in business or personal life either. I believe that what is important is what I give, and that is respect, kindness, and professionalism regardless of gender, age, race, etc.

What is one major goal that you wish to achieve by 2030?

Good question. As fast as the world is changing it is hard to gauge what 2030 will look like but growing and being recognized more widely is always on the agenda.

Who is your biggest influence, and why?

My business partner, Moe Afshar, taught me everything in the watch and jewelry business.

If you could pick one female entrepreneur, who would you say is your biggest inspiration?

I don’t have one specific inspiration, but rather several long-time friends who are not only business owners but single moms as well. They are the real superheroes in this world.

What has been the most formative advice you have received and why?

I don’t recall any specific formative advice, but I do think of my old boss from my mortgage years, Mary Fuller, as a mentor that I learned a lot from.

Do you think the drive to become an entrepreneur is born with or is learned?

It could be both, depending on personality and life events.
